After two years Mauricio Velez is leaving SV YACHTS in pursuit of new opportunities. As a co-founder, Mauricio brought much energy and enthusiasm to the company.
Calling both Puerto Rico and Miami his home, Mauricio contributed essential knowledge of the market in the company's early stages.
The team at SV YACHTS thanks Mauricio and wishes him well on his future endeavors.
MIAMI YACHT SHOW
The team at SV YACHTS successfully presented our model "ALPHA" at this year's Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue. From February 15 - 19, we hosted many potential clients, enthusiasts and press alike. This particular "ALPHA" was outfitted with twin 700HP Mercury Racing engines and M6 surface drives allowing a top speed of well over 80mph. Of course we also offer several different engine options ranging from twin 520HP - twin 860HP.
The 2018 model updates that were presented include a completely re-designed cabin with the same fiery red upholstery throughout, new seat bolsters, head rests and 6-way adjustable helm seats, a high gloss and more puristic engine room design and a fully re-designed electronics system.
The days following the show, we had the pleasure of inviting a hand full of keenly interested ladies and gentlemen for some of the most unforgettable sea trials around the Miami area.

FLORIDA POWERBOAT CLUB
Going into its 23rd iteration, the Miami Boat Show Poker Run gave us and "ALPHA" a great format to shine and show off those big compressor engines at full speed.
A weekend of spending time among enthusiasts, enjoying the comradery and seeing some of the fastest and most outstanding powerboats in the world.
Although the team at SV YACHTS didn't win with their poker hand, we did receive the award as "The Most Outrageous Boat"!!!

CUSTOM AND CUSTOM
Designing, Engineering and Building a custom or semi-custom yacht with the best equipment and materials is not all that is required in today’s competitive market. In order to translate the purest production version of a concept design without too many compromises can only be achieved with tenacity and resolve. The cost of designing, expensive prototyping, installation and finishing of special parts as many times as it takes to make them fit and work, is not for the faint-hearted.
In order to be outstanding as a company with the product we offer, it cannot stop at simple custom equipment. We have to go a step beyond and make these parts unique and bespoke.
Among the countless custom- and customizable parts on “ALPHA” we are proud to show a hand full of truly unique pieces. One of these pieces is the multi-function analog clock housed in the center of the dashboard panel. As the only analog instrument on the large glass helm, it stands out presenting the SV logo.
In addition to the standard time, we also have a ring for a 24-hour military time. In the bottom half of the clock we show an independent smaller face presenting a Tide-Clock with the typical 24hour 50.5minute tide cycle. Every detail has been meticulously crafted down to the redundant energy source that will keep the clock running for years without draining the boat batteries and the backlight integration with the yacht’s color concept and digital switching.
A true masterpiece in design and creation.
The world renowned Italian company that has been building steering wheels and after-market parts for over 30 years, worked together with SV YACHTS during the design process to deliver a fully custom and intelligent steering module (ISM).
In search for a true sports car look and feel at the helm of “ALPHA”, it quickly became evident that ISOTTA was the only brand that would be able to deliver the product and quality we were looking for. Adapting their ISM to our needs, we kept the stereo system control on the right side (on/off, seek, volume, mute and media) and added custom controls on the left side. This includes horn, bow thruster on/off, bow thruster port/stbd, anchor windlass up/down.
Integrating this smart ISM control panel with all its functions into our complex and extensive electronics-/ electrics system and digital switching was a challenge. Connecting to a spectrum of low and high-tech equipment from a simple horn or windlass to substituting a bow thruster joy stick, accessing the nmea2000 backbone or FUSION stereo required some creative problem solving.
ISOTTA and our electronics experts at Langer Krell were able to make our vision come true.
